This past October, a group of 8 talented and curious artists embarked upon an enchanting and educational art vacation in the scenic Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, for the second time in two years. An area of stunning natural beauty, located in Inyo County California, it’s vistas and colors just beg to be captured by artists and photographers alike year-round. From October 6-8, 2025 Independence, Lone Pine and Mammoth Lakes played host to our seventh Eat Paint Live art retreat.
The return did not disappoint, filled as it was with creating plein air art, friendship, excursions and delicious local meals! We painted and sketched at Manzanar, the Museum of the Eastern Sierras, at a private cabin up in Seven Pines, and in the Alabama Hills' famous Movie Rocks. The rabbitbrush was blooming, the moon was full and the coyotes were yipping. Our views were beautiful from sun up to sundown. And the company was just extraordinary - a latelented, kind and funny group of artists plus one non-painting partner.
